Student Engagement Liaison/Support Group Facilitator

Hello,

 

My name is James Powers and I have been employed with Highlands Community Charter and Technical School since Day 1!  This is now my 6th year with the organization. I help provide support to all students as well as facilitate small support groups at multiple sites within our organization.

 

In collaboration with our school counselors and other support staff, our goal as a team is to remove barriers and provide solutions and support to all students. Anything from Academics, housing, finances, expungements, EDD, Calworks, Transportation, child care, as well as social and emotional support. We will work with each student and their family to connect them with resources that help to achieve success! "Whatever it Takes!" We connect with community partners to relieve stressors that may prevent a student from achieving their ultimate goal of graduating with a US High School Diploma and a Professional Career!
