Biography
With over 10 years of experience teaching English to speakers of other languages, Kareasa Wilkins currently teaches Advanced ELD and Citizenship at Highlands’ St. Rose campus. She holds a BA in Literature from UC Santa Cruz, an MA in English from San Francisco State, and a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge University. In addition to teaching at Highlands, she has taught in community colleges, state universities, and private language institutes in the United States, Colombia, and Vietnam. She has an integrative teaching philosophy and believes that establishing rapport with students and understanding individual needs is fundamental to sparking intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning in students. She loves being part of the dynamic and diverse Highlands family. In her spare time, she enjoys trail running, triathlons, cooking, and traveling.
