About Me...

My name is Chris Timpson, and I teach Social Studies at the Grand Avenue location. I started my career as a teacher in Southern California, and I have worked in some aspect of education for the last 25 years. I moved to Sacramento in 1999 to become a high school Principal, a position I served in for thirteen years. In 2012, I became a Program Manager for a community-based organization that developed a re-entry program working with adult ex-offenders for Sacramento County Probation. I have also spent some time working with afterschool programming for Elementary students. I joined the staff of Highlands Community Charter School in 2016. I believe my entire professional career lead me to teach at this school. I have a deep personal connection to Highlands' Motto, Vision and Mission as these ideals so closely align with my own personal educational goals developed over the last 25 years. I feel truly blessed to work with such dedicated staff and to interact on a daily basis with some of the most interesting and courageous students I have encountered in my career. I see growth every day, not just for our school, but most importantly, for my students and myself.
