“Empowering today’s digital learners to become tomorrow’s digital leaders.”
What We Do
The Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools’ Department of Instructional Technology (DIT) develops agency-wide educational technology policy and supports the Highlands mission by increasing access to technology, promoting digital citizenship, and incorporating choice, ownership, and student voice through authentic learning opportunities to empower today’s digital learners to be tomorrow’s digital leaders.
DIT Provides Support by:
Advocating for equitable access to technology and digital learning opportunities for all students;
Facilitating personalized, one-on-one or small group workshops as well as relevant and sustained professional learning for all staff, regardless of position;
Reviewing and recommending high-quality, career-oriented digital curriculum and affordable digital resources for use at school and at home;
Developing Communities of Practice (CoP) to share existing knowledge, nurture new knowledge, and stimulate innovation; and,
Staying abreast of new technology and research to continually improve programs and student learning outcomes.
